New Freebies at the NOMCC
At a time when many corporate and association meeting planners are feeling unprecedented pressures to do more with less, especially when it comes to budgets, New Orleans has extended an innovative program that the city’s CVB hopes will enhance the Crescent City’s reputation for delivering solid value.
Dubbed “Extraordinary Experiences” and launched in cooperation with the New Orleans Morial Convention Center, the program offers major incentives for groups using the convention center and at least 1,000 sleeping rooms on peak night, while booking a meeting for specific months of each year from 2009 through 2013.
Built in 1886 and last renovated earlier this year, the beloved French Quarter landmark is a legend for good reason.

Quite an assortment of other hotels can claim the same AAA Four Diamond award that hangs on the historic walls of the Hotel Monteleone. But only the Monteleone, still owned and operated by the family that opened its doors in 1886, can claim the singular honor of being recognized as a Literary Landmark by the Friends of Libraries USA. That’s because during its literary heyday, which stretched from the turn of the 20th century to the 1940s, literary legends including William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote called the Monteleone home.
It’s that unique literary panache, in addition to its grand and lovingly maintained architectural presence and its location smack at the epicenter of the French Quarter, that makes the Monteleone a magical venue for the right kind of meeting.
